Extend the Agent with plugins

Install skills into a project, add connectors to your account, and browse or publish in the marketplace.

Install skills into a project

A skill is a set of instructions the Agent loads when a task calls for it. It is installed into the project as a file, so every collaborator's Agent can use it.

How to do it

  1. Open the AI panel, open Agent controls and choose Plugins; the dialog opens on Skills.
  2. Narrow the list with Field or Search skills, and choose Install on the skill you want.
  3. Look under This project's skills for skill files that were written by hand or by the Agent; the Agent loads them like any other skill.
  4. Choose Update when a skill shows Update available, or Restore original to drop the edits made to it in this project.
  5. Choose Copy from another project to copy skill files from one of your other projects into this one.
  6. Choose Uninstall to remove a skill; its file is deleted for every collaborator.

Add connectors to your account

A connector lets the Agent query an outside service. It belongs to your account and works in every project you open.

How to do it

  1. In the Plugins dialog switch to Connectors, and use Field or Search connectors to find a service.
  2. Choose Add. If the connector needs an API key, enter it and choose Save key; if it needs a sign-in, choose Sign in at the service and finish in the tab that opens.
  3. Choose Test connection to confirm the service answers and see how many tools it offers.
  4. Use Turn off to pause a connector while it stays added to your account, and Turn on to use it again.
  5. Choose Remove to take the connector off your account; a saved key is deleted, or you are signed out of the service.

Browse and publish in the marketplace

The plugin marketplace lists the skills and connectors JointTex ships, and the skill sets people publish from GitHub.

How to do it

  1. Choose Browse the plugin marketplace in the Plugins dialog, then filter with All plugins, Added, Starred, Most popular or Trending.
  2. Open a skill set to read its description, its license and the Instructions of each skill before you use it.
  3. Choose Star on a set and it is offered in the Plugins dialog of every project you open; you install its skills into a project from there.
  4. To share your own, choose Publish skills, pick a GitHub repository you own or can push to, choose Check repository, fill in the name, summary and up to 3 fields, then choose Publish.
  5. On a set you published, choose Update from GitHub after changing the repository, or Take down to remove it from the marketplace.
