Clear, practical guides for writing, compiling, and sharing LaTeX projects.

Manage your projects

Find, duplicate, archive, trash, import, and export projects from the dashboard.

Find your work

The Projects page lists everything you own or collaborate on, so the first job is narrowing it down.

How to do it

  1. Search by project name, and sort by when a project was last touched to bring live work to the top.
  2. Star the handful of projects you are actually working in this week.
  3. Archive a project that is finished but worth keeping; it leaves the main list without leaving your account.
  4. Stars and archiving are personal — a collaborator's list is not reshuffled by yours.

Duplicate, trash, and restore

Every lifecycle action lives in the project's own menu, and the destructive ones belong to the owner alone.

How to do it

  1. Duplicate any project you can open — including one shared with you — to get an independent copy that belongs to you.
  2. Only the owner can move a project to the Trash, restore it from the Trash, or delete it permanently.
  3. A project has to be in the Trash before it can be deleted permanently, so nothing disappears in one click.
  4. Deleting permanently also removes the project's history, AI sessions, and Git repository.

Import and export

Work moves in and out of JointTex as ordinary archives, with limits that keep one project compilable.

How to do it

  1. Import existing work by uploading a ZIP archive — up to 100 MiB per import, and several archives in one pass.
  2. Stay inside the per-project limits: at most 20,000 files and 512 MiB, with a single uploaded file up to 50 MiB.
  3. Export from the project menu: download the compiled PDF, or the sources as a ZIP archive.
  4. Every member can export, including viewers — read access is enough to take a copy away.
